October

It's October already! I'm feeling very apathetic about blogging at the moment. Daniel vocabulary is shooting through the roof, speaking in sentences and able to mimic most words (to be somewhat recognizable). It is very cute to hear him say his prayers at night. Or when he says "I like you, Mummy". He has finally learned to jump and practices it in many places (including beds, and picnic tables!)
Ryan is trying to crawl, but mostly it looks like 'swimming' at the moment. He cranes his neck to see what his big brother is up to, and loves splashing in the bath tub.
I've become involved in the leadership team of my local MOPS (mothers of pre schoolers) group, which is exciting but a little daunting too. I'm praying about the possibility of returning to work (substitute teaching 1 day a week), and when a good time would be. I also enquired at the local dancing school as I'd like to get back into Highland Dancing, even if it's just for the exercise. I'm not sure how that will go, though, as it would require finding a babysitter for the hour in between me leaving and Nathan getting home from work. The possibilities!
Nathan's work is going well. His probation is over, and he's ordered a new work car which should arrive in Mackay before Christmas. His company has won another contract up here, so we'll be here at least til September 2011.

We had a lovely visit from Nana & Poppy this weekend. And we're looking forward to a visit from Uncle Ross in another week.

6 months old!

Tomorrow Ryan will be 6 months old, and the time as flown! He can sit up by himself for  a little bit, and can make some very loud noises when he wants attention. Ryan alternates between being very serious (he has quite a frown), and bashfully happy. Our preteen neighbourhood girls love Ryan and Daniel and often come and play ball or draw on our driveway after school. Daniel is currently learning the art of toileting which is both exciting and frustrating.

Very soon we should have a better idea of how long we may be in Mackay. Nathan's probation finishes this week so a new work car is in the books. I'm hoping to start something new myself in the next few months, being involved in the leadership team of our local MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) group.

D's new haircut

Well he's looking more grown up! He is nearly two after all. These photos were taken yesterday in our backyard. Daniel was all dressed up like Daddy for church.

Some Photos of our Drive to Mackay

The Pioneer River, which runs through the middle of Mackay.

Having lunch on the long drive to Mackay (it took us 2 days, but you could do it in one very long day).

Settling in

We've finally unpacked! Most of our kitchen things needed disinfecting, then washing before storing them in our roomy kitchen (thanks to lots of cockroach evidence in our boxes). Washing machine has broken down unfortunately and won't be fixed for a few days, so doing hand washing at the moment. What a pity Dad isn't close by! Our new home (photos coming) is very roomy, with 4 bedrooms, ensuite, and an open plan living/kitchen/dining area. We feel very spoiled! Daniel even has his own playroom as the boys are currently sharing a bedroom. And Nathan gets an office/study to hide away and keep his books in.

We've visited the beach at least once a week so far, and a few other playgrounds nearby. We have our first playdate with some 2yr old twin boys, so happy that Daniel should have someone besides Mum to play with for a change.

Ryan is rolling over, which makes getting to sleep (and staying asleep) a very trying time. Hopefully he will either learn how to sleep on his back, or to roll back to his tummy soon. He will be 4 months next Sunday, and less than 2 weeks until Daniel has his second birthday. We are hoping Nana can come for a visit for his birthday, so glad that family can visit quite easily even though we are not in Brisbane anymore.

Photos soon - including my first attempt at giving Daniel a buzz cut :) (quite proud of myself actually hehe)

New blog address

Since we are no longer in Canada, it is about time our blog name changed. Welcome to The Cunneen Clan. Hopefully this name should suit no matter where in the world we happen to be!
